Reading Bowl & Book Club

Reading Bowl is a team competition to promote the Georgia Peach Book Award Nominees – the 20 best books for teens for the last year. Everyone is invited to be part of the Reading Bowl Club and a group of 10 will be selected to participate in the Reading Bowl where we compete against other high schools.

When will we meet? Reading Bowl will meet twice a month September through December and more frequently as we prepare for the competition in January. Book Club will meet one Friday a month during B2 to discuss one of the Book Award books.

What is the competition like? We will take a group of 10 students to the competition. Each round consists of 5 students answering questions from the books on the list. There will be buzzers and a judge for each round. It is LOADS of fun!

What is expected for Reading Bowl? Team members are expected to read at least 5 books from the GA Peach Award List, write questions about each book and participate in meetings & competitions.

What is Book Club like?  We all read the same book and discuss it!
